FAQ
Questions families ask us
If your question isn't answered here, call 414-768-2043. We'd rather explain it properly than have you guess.
Getting started
How do we begin?
One phone call. We'll ask about the daily routine, mobility, memory and what worries you most. If it sounds like we can help, we arrange a free in-home assessment.
Is the assessment really free?
Yes. There's no cost and no obligation, and you'll receive a written care plan before committing to anything.
How quickly can care start?
To be confirmed: Typical turnaround from first call to care beginning.
Do we have to sign a long-term contract?
To be confirmed: Contract terms and notice period for cancellation.
Cost and payment
How much does home care cost?
To be confirmed: Hourly rate or range. This is the most-searched question in home care.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
To be confirmed: Minimum shift length.
Do rates change for nights, weekends or holidays?
To be confirmed: Overnight, weekend and holiday rates.
What payment methods do you accept?
To be confirmed: Private pay, long-term care insurance, VA benefits, Medicaid waiver programmes (Family Care / IRIS).
Does Medicare cover this?
To be confirmed: Exact wording to be confirmed. Medicare generally does not cover non-medical personal care; families are frequently confused about this.
Caregivers
How do you vet your caregivers?
Every caregiver undergoes a criminal background check, reference verification and a skills assessment before placement. All are insured and bonded.
Will we have the same caregiver each visit?
That's the goal, and we schedule for it. Illness and holidays occasionally require a substitute, and we'll tell you in advance when that happens.
Can we request a different caregiver?
Yes, at any time, without having to justify it. A bad personality match isn't anyone's fault.
Can we meet the caregiver first?
Yes. We arrange an introduction before the first shift.
Are caregivers trained in dementia care?
Yes.
To be confirmed: Training programme and certification details.
Services and scheduling
What hours are available?
To be confirmed: Whether 24/7 means care delivery, phone answering, or both.
Do you provide overnight or live-in care?
To be confirmed: Overnight and live-in availability.
Can care hours increase as needs change?
Yes. Care plans are reviewed regularly and adjust as circumstances do.
Do you provide medical or nursing care?
We provide personal and supportive care, not skilled nursing. We don't administer medication, provide wound care or give injections.
Do you provide transportation?
To be confirmed: Whether caregivers drive clients to appointments.
Practical
What areas do you serve?
Communities across Southeastern Wisconsin. See our service areas.
What if our regular caregiver is sick?
We arrange cover and let you know in advance wherever possible. You will never simply be left without the visit.
How do we know what happened during a visit?
Caregivers record what was done and anything that changed. Families receive updates after each visit.
To be confirmed: Update mechanism — app, email, or written log.
Ready when you are. No pressure, no cost to talk.
One call. We listen, we visit the home, and you get a written plan before anything starts.
